When Glenna Jean had her second baby she realized that baby accessories and bedding were designed for function with a lack of attention to design and beauty for the nursery. She dreamed of creating a very special space for her daughter and set out to design her own nursery décor. Using printed sheets purchased from a local store, she managed to nip and tuck the fabric in such a way to create a gorgeous sleep space and baby room for her precious angel.

Once friends and family experienced the magic of what Glenna could do with a pretty set of sheets, people began to approach her for help with decorating their baby's nurseries. Her love for design and the realization that people liked her work sparked the idea to take her hobby and turn it into a business. In 1977, the company Glenna Jean was born. When her children grew up, they joined the business and even her granddaughter is now a part of the oldest privately held infant bedding company in the US.
